RISK Assesment. This course uses roads approved by the government for use by cyles and risks are those encountered in everyday use. At the start riders may congregate waiting to start so a sign should be placed warning drivers approaching from behind the riders that a cycle event is in progress. Warning signs at the turn roundabout should be placed to warn drivers approaching on the A40 from the West that an event is in progress. Riders should be aware there are six slip roads where motor vehicles will be entering or leaving the A40.
